RE-ELECT Kendall Rumsey, Lake Park Commission..... TOMORROW!

Dear Friends,

Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 9th, the residents of Lake Park will go to the polls to elect the Town Commission that will lead us for the next three years.

A year ago, you gave me the esteemed honor of serving on our Town Commission and I am proud of the progress we have made in that year. Since being elected we have....

NOT RAISED TAXES: While every town in America is suffering from lower property taxes and decreased sales tax revenue, the Town of Lake Park did NOT raise taxes on the citizens. We worked diligently to keep our tax rate the same as years prior, one of the few towns in Florida who did not have a tax increase!

ADDED TWO SHERRIFF DEPUTIES: Public safety is the number one issue we all face. Using dollars from our CRA, we have added two additional deputies to our streets this year.

INCREASED COMMUNICATION WITH THE RESIDENTS: Providing open communication with the residents of our Town is vital. This past year, we dedicated time to providing this information through our local TV station, through e-mail contacts and personally I have dedicated a great deal of time to send out emails to you, keeping you informed on Town issues and services.

ADDITIONAL STREET LIGHTING: The number one issue I have heard from countless residents is the lack of comprehensive street lighting throughout the Town. This November we will vote on a referendum to add new lighting to the entire Town. A lighting sample has been set up on the 200 block of Bayberry. The lights there are SAMPLES, this does not mean these will be the lighting instruments used, but it is provided to show the coverage of the LED lighting we are proposing. Our residents will have input on the style of light as we move forward with workshops and community meetings.

STRONG LEGISLATION PROTECTING OUR RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS: In an effort to eliminate the expansion of additional half-way houses in our neighborhoods, I proposed legislation to curb this expansion. With the help of my fellow Commissioners we now have the strongest legislation in our Town's history designed to eliminate this problem. We still have work to do and will continue this process.

COMMUNITY GARDEN: In an effort to move to be a greener community, the Town of Lake Park Commission approved the use of property on Foresteria Drive for a Community Garden. Ground will be broken in the next couple of months to begin the "Seeds of Hope" program.

PARK AVENUE REVITALIZATION: For many years Park Avenue has been a shell of what it can be. Today we have new restaurants opening on Park Avenue, a Village Green for events, a new Juried Art Show in late March and we are committed to the Arts as we renovate an Arts Co-op. These new businesses help make Lake Park a destination and will increase our property taxes moving forward. This year we completed a program to "clean-up" the Park Avenue alley-ways, a project that has been talked about for 15 years and today it is complete!

These are just a few of the successes we have seen in the past year. Much is still to be done and in this election we have a choice, do we continue with the progress we are seeing, or do we go back to a time of revolving door staff and dissent. The choice is clear and with your help we will continue to move forward.....together!

It is a great honor to serve the Town of Lake Park as your Commissioner. I take my responsibility seriously and will continue to put everything I have into our Town's future if you return me to office. I am confident that we are on the right path, a path that will make Lake Park the most desirable community in all of Florida to live.

I respectfully ask you to go to the polls tomorrow and make your voice known, I respectfully ask for your VOTE!

Thank you in advance and with your help I look forward to continuing our progress.....together!

Moving Lake Park Forward....Together,

Kendall R. Rumsey
